How do you feel about rhodium plating for fine jewelry?

Caroline,
It is an excellent way of protecting the integrity of the piece and routinely done for the final production stages on custom jewelry work.

This is how my setting was and I loved it. That was until I took it to a jeweler to get my rings cut off while being pregnant and swollen. Needless to say they tried moving the setting cut back and the entire ring fell apart! Diamond and all. They put the diamond back and now it looks completely different and I hate it. The diamond is sitting way to low and isn't perfectly square in the setting anymore. It's almost a radiant cut look. So mad.
